Pori Kadalai is a sweet & savoury mixture made by blending puffed rice, ground nuts & jaggery. Pori Kadalai is made for Saraswathi Pooja / Ayudha Pooja and is easy & quick to make.
For Saraswathi Pooja, we usually make Pori Kadalai and Chana Sundal.I have already posted Chana Sundal so wanted to post this pori kadalai but somehow each time I keep forgetting.So today morning while making to serve god clicked it to post it here 🙂 It is actually not a recipe, its a partial no cook version with just mixing of ingredients but still wanted to post it for reference.
I painted this board(used as bg for the pics here)yesterday and I love the way it has come out in the pics 🙂

Pori Kadalai | Puffed Rice Mixture
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups pori / puffed rice
- 1/4 cup whole peanuts
- 2 tablespoon chutney dal
- 2 tablespoon powdered jaggery
Instructions
- Roast peanuts until crisp, set aside.
- Measure and get ready with all your ingredients.
- In a mixing bowl, add pori, then add chutney dal, roasted peanuts.
- Then add powdered jaggery. Mix it well.
- Offer Pori Kadalai to God on Saraswathi Pooja and serve!
Notes
- You can even add a teaspoon of raw poha.
