This Cheese Toast is mittus favorite so make it for once in a while usually she loves bread in any form like mother like daughter.
This Cheese Toast Recipe is very easy to make and am sure it will be a hit with kids.You can serve this as a snack or appetiser.

Cheese Toast
Ingredients
- 4 slices wheat bread
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 4 tablespoon cheese grated
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano plus extra to sprinkle
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes plus extra to sprinkle
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Take butter at room temperature. Add oregano, salt and chilli flakes to it.
- Mix it. Now get ready with the butter spread, cheese and bread slices.
- Spread the butter on both the sides on each bread.
- Heat dosa tawa, place the bread slices carefully. I toasted 2 slices at a time.
- Toast till slightly golden, then sprinkle cheese on top to cover up, simmer the flame then cook covered for few seconds.
- Cook till cheese melts by then the bottom must have become crisp. Remove from tawa, cut and serve. Enjoy Cheese Toast!
Notes
- I used mozarella cheese, you can even use cheese cubes grated.
- I have used wheat bread as I had that in hand, you can use white bread.
- Toast only till golden as the base will get crisp when the cheese melts.If you toast the bread slices for more time then it will get burnt while cheese melts so just toast till slightly golden.
- You can even add crushed garlic to the butter spread.

Expert Tips
- I used mozarella cheese, you can even use cheese cubes grated.

Carrot Cheese Toast
Carrot Cheese combination is a winner when used as a filling. I have tried this with parathas and its a great hit at home especially with mittu.So I thought to try the same carrot cheese filling for bread toast…How can the cheesy combination go wrong?! Yum it was!
I am sure kids will love it so treat them and you can enjoy as well !!
Bread – 6 slices
Carrot – 1 cup grated
Cheese spread – 2 tablespoon
Mozarella Cheese – 1/4 cup grated
Big Onion – 1/4 cup finely chopped
Garlic – 1 tablespoon finely chopped
Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
Oregano – 1/2 teaspoon
Chat Masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Chilli Flakes – 1 teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Olive oil – just to brush
Method:
- Rinse carrot well, trim off the edges and peel the skin.Grate it using a grater, measure 1 cup and collect it in a mixing bowl.Add chopped garlic,onion,cheese to it.
- Add pepper powder,oregano,chat masala powder little salt and mix well.Now cut each bread slice diagonally into 2 to get traingles.
- Preheat oven at 175 deg C for 10mins.Meanwhile lay aluminium foil on the baking tray and arrange the bread slices.Spoon the carrot cheese mixture generously and spread it on the bread slice.Now sprinkle grated cheese over it.Brush the sides with olive oil.
- Put the tray in the middle rack and bake it for 10-12mins at the same temperature.Sprinkle chilli flakes and serve hot.The timing may vary so keep an after 8mins and once the edges start to brown then your toast is ready.Do not overbake, turn over and as you see the golden brown color at the bottom part of the bread it shows that the bread toast is done.
Serve hot / warm with tomato sauce.
Tips
- If you want to make it stove top then follow this : Toast the bread with butter/ ghee in dosa tawa till golden on both the sides take it out spread the mixture and place the filling side up and cook covered for 2-3mins until the cheese is goey and the vegetables become little soft.But I recommend sauteing the veggies before making the filling for stove top version.
- Brushing the sides with oil is must else the bread will turn dry.
- You can add any vegetables of your choice but make sure to choose vegetables that cook easily.
- You can even add capsicum.
- I used Amul cheese spread and it was plain , you can even try with some flavored cheese.
- Carrot, onion and garlic tends to turn soft after getting toasted in oven.
- I used bake mode but I think toast / pizza mode will work as well.
- You can even make the filling as sandwich and toast the bread.
- The look of the toast on top may be deceptive so don’t overbake then it will get burnt and will become like a rusk.Just turn over to see the bottom then proceed baking accordingly.
- I used white bread, you can use wheat or multigrain bread too.

Corn Cheese Toast is a great breakfast recipe. You can make toast and spread the corn cheese sauce else make as filling for sandwiches works great for both.I reserved little filling and used it as filling in chapathi and toasted in tawa which I shared in Instagram few weeks back, Mittu so loved it and asked me to make it often, Will sure make a seperate post for it sometime soon.
This Corn Cheese Toast is great for breakfast and as after school snack too.
- 6 slices bread
- 1/4 cup onion chopped
- 1/4 cup capsicum chopped
- 1/2 cup boiled sweet corn
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
- 3/4 cup boiled milk
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon maida
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
- salt to taste
How to make corn cheese toast
- Pressure cook sweet corn for atleast 5-6 whistles,drain water and set aside.Chop onion and capsicum roughly.Heat a teaspoon of oil – Add onion saute till it turns transparent and then add capsicum and saute for few mins.
- Add corn and pepper powder.Mix well,Switch off and Set aside.Heat butter in a pan.
- Add maida and fry it for few seconds.Then add milk.
- Keep whisking till it forms a thick saucy consistency.Now add the sauted veggies.
- Mix well.Add cheese and let it melt.Now switch off and set aside.
- Now toast bread slices with ghee.Spoon a generous amount of corn cheese sauce over the bread slices and serve.
Serve hot / warm with sauce.
Tips
- You can even toast the bread using toaster.
- If you want to bake the slices then don’t add cheese in the mxture, make white sauce spread over the bread slices,add grated cheese then bake it in oven for 10mins at 180 deg C after preheating.
- You can use this stuffing as sandwich filling too.
- I used Amul cube cheese.You can use any of your favorite cheese.
- I used fresh sweet corn, boiled it and then seperated from the kernel.You can use frozen corn too.
- You can include other veggies like carrot,babycorn,broccoli etc.
- I used white bread, you can use wheat or multigrain bread too.
