Dalgona Coffee is nothing but milk topped with whipped coffee cream. Dalgona Coffee is a beverage made by adding cold or hot milk and topping it with whipped cream made by equal proportions of instant coffee, sugar and hot water until it becomes creamy.
Dalgona Coffee was orginated from Korea and its spreading across the world and it is actually very trending now so thought to try it. Now more versions of Dalgona Coffee like mocha,white chocolate, rose and many more have been trending in social media.It is also called whipped coffee or beaten coffee.
According to wikipedia : Dalgona is the name of the South Korean version of honeycomb toffee candy. Dalgona Coffee gets its name from the fluffy, toffee-like texture of the coffee when whipped into foam.While most dalgona coffee doesn’t actually contain dalgona, the South Korean version of honeycomb toffee candy, one South Korean cafe does actually combine dalgona with milk tea or coffee.
When I googled for the name reason this is what I found : The coining of the name is credited to the South Korean actor Jung Il-woo, who ordered a whipped coffee at an eatery in Macau during his appearance on a TV show called Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant. He likened the taste to that of dalgona, a type of Korean honeycomb toffee heance the name.

Dalgona Coffee Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon instant coffee powder
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon hot water
- 2 cups chilled milk boiled,cooled & chilled
- few ice cubes
Instructions
- To a mixing bowl add coffee powder then add sugar and hot water to it.
- Whisk well. Keep whisking. It takes time when we use hand whisk electric beater makes it faster. It will slowly get thicker.
- Whisk until it form soft peaks like this. Now whipped coffee cream is ready.
- Fold it together and set aside. Now get ready with your ingredients.
- Take a serving glass - add few ice cubes first then pour chilled milk. Top it with whipped cream. Sprinkle coffee powder and serve Dalgona Coffee chilled!

This was excellent, thank you! It’s so easy and lovely as well. My entire family enjoyed it. I will definitely be making it on a regular basis. I used decaf coffee, vanilla soy milk for 3 of them and vanilla almond milk for my husband. I think next time I’ll double the coffee cream unless I buy smaller glasses, but my husband says he liked the size of his mason jar mug, lol!
