About Mango Cheese Cake
Mango Cheese Cake is made by layering biscuit layer for the base, then cream and cream cheese layer for the next and finally the mango layer. It looks so pretty with layers and tastes delicious too.
You can either make it in a springform pan or in individual glasses which is easier for serving too. It was a delicious after meal dessert, we enjoyed to the core and the lil one loved it too.

Mango Cheese Cake Ingredients
- Cream, Cream cheese – Cream cheese and cream are used to set the white layer.
- Biscuits – Biscuits are crumbled and mixed with butter to form the base layer.
- Butter – Butter is used to set the biscuit layer.
- China grass – China grass is used as a setting agent here.
- Mango – Mangoes are pureed and use for the top layer.
Mango Cheese Cake Step by Step
1.Take the biscuits and crush it coarsely. Add melted butter to it and mix well till its slightly moist.
2.The biscuit base is ready. Now it is your choice to set the cheese cake in a 8″ springform pan else in individual glasses as I did. Spoon the mixture into each individual glasses, press it firmly with the back of a spoon. Refrigerate it. Meanwhile we can make the other 2 layers ready. Add china grass in water and heat it up.
3.The china grass starts dissolving, once its completely dissolved, switch off and keep aside. Chop the mango pieces roughly and puree it until smooth.
4.Add the puree to the china grass water mixture and mix well. Then add half of the mango china mixture(reserve the other half for the 3rd layer) to a bowl containing cream, cream cheese and sugar. Mix it up until it is evenly distributed.
5.Take the glass and fill it up the cheese mango layer till 3/4th of the glass. Return it back to the fridge and let is rest there for at least 1.5 hrs. Then pour the reserved mango puree and allow it to set for 4-5 hours or preferably overnight.
Serve chilled with chopped nuts of your choice.
Expert Tips
- Once the cream cheese is refrigerated, before pouring the mango puree layer – Check whether the cheese layer is firm enough before you pour the mango puree else it will get mixed with the 2nd layer.
- If you use gelatin, then use hot water to dissolve gelatin then use it.
- The layer quantity in each glass is purely your choice. Usually the top layer is very thin in the cheese cake but we liked it this way too.
- In case if you don’t get fresh mango puree, you can use canned mango pulp too.
- This suits best for get togethers or party as you can make it in advance the previous day and serve the delicious after meal dessert in no minutes.
- You can also use hung curd as I did for my strawberry cheese cake.
Serving and Storage
Serve it chilled at least for 4-5 hours. It keeps well in fridge for about a week.

Yeh. you forgot to mention the sugar, in which part to which layer we have to add that?. Also, I did tried Mango one after looking at your Strawberry ones and it turned up to be very tasty. I did boiled sugar to one string and added the puree and boiled for a few mins and then topped it up over my creamy layer.

hi i had a doubt. i'm still new to cooking/baking/making anything edible.
just wanted to know why you use cream cheese for mango cheesecake and hung curd for strawberry cheesecake can i use hung curd for mango also ?
thanks
Sharmilee! :)
There is no specific reason for it….just that I wanted to try variations in my cheese cake I tried both with hung curd and homemade cream cheese….Though cream cheese is best for cheesecakes, hung curd is a low fat alternate.
Rekha B
thanks.
can i use the normal curd cups which we get in market or should i buy that and drain the water from that ?
SHARMILEE J
@Rekha : Yes you can use
Sharmilee! :)
If you are using set curd then no need to hang it…if you buy normal curd you need to make the curd thick for it to set well
Rekha B
thanks . hoping to try it this weekend 🙂

Hi.thanks alot for such a wonderful recipe.I have been thinking of making cheese cake for long but couldn't because of the cream cheese.
I have a question….tried this recipe today…but the cream cheese mix came out to be really less. I filled it into 4 glasses, could fill 1/4 only…can I thin it down next time

I found this website through "Cook like a Bong" site. And I must say that am glad I found it. The recipe is yummy and easy to make. Since I have a crate of mangoes, I now know what to do with it. Thanks.

Hi Sharmi
Iam a silent visitor and this is my first post to you. I made this but had a few problems hope you would have time to answer them.
1. The cream cheese(Milky Mist) was very thick after combining it with fresh cream and half mango purée it tasted different not sweet, not the type we eat in restaurant but very rich and a bit sour. It fun mix properly had few tiny baby lumps seen (in short rather coarse)
2.The top layer was perfect.
3. The biscuit crumbs refused to come in the spoon along with the other 2 layers. I had to literally break it.
4. Overall i felt satiated even before after eating half.
Iam not complaining but I want to make this right. I definitely want to do it again, and make it perfect.
so I request you to tell me where I had gone wrong.
Had used canned Alphonse mango pulp, the pulp itself wasn't rather sweet.(would the canned mangoes be sweet?)
Used china grass.

SHARMILEE J
1.As far as I know there is no cream cheese in milkymist.I think you might have used cheese instead.Try brittania cream cheese / philadelphia cream cheese or homemade.
3.The biscuits crumble is slightly moist but after refrigerating, it slightly hardens up.
I used fresh mangoes and am really not sure of the sweetness of canned mangoes.

Also I saw in your comments about using curd. So can I replace cream cheese with curd. Would it taste good?
J.Ebe
SHARMILEE J
You can replace cream cheese with hung curd(refer strawberry cheese cake recipe) and not plain curd.
Tejaswini Hari
can we follow strawberry cheese recipe and just replace strawberry with mango.. and second thing which tastes better with cream cheese+ cream or with hung curd
SHARMILEE J
Yes you can replace…Cream cheese tastes great for cheese cakes but if you want a low fat version then use hung curd
Shwetha Aithala
Hi.. The agar agar that you have used is the flakes/strands and not the powder right? If yes, should it be broken down into small pieces and then measured to a tablespoon?
SHARMILEE J
Yes it is flakes…..Yes break and then measure
Suja S Rajesh :)
Hi Sharmilee, is it ok to proceed without cream & just cream cheese?
SHARMILEE J
You can try and see Suja, not really sure, haven't experimented much
nive srini
Looks delicious:)). I'm trying it tomorrow!!

Is there any substitute for china grass or gelatine as they are not easily available in my locality?
