Fried Onion is very popular in South Asian and Western cuisine. The best part is you can freeze it for months and use it. Grinding little of fried onion to a paste and adding it to curries / gravies elevates the taste of the dish.
You get fried onions readily available in stores but most of the times they can re use oil for frying which gives it a rancid smell which is not healthy too. So I always prefer to make fried onions at home.
