Homemade Crackers are crunchy, savoury biscuits made by flat rolling a dough blend of flour, spices & butter, cutting them into squares and baking it. Homemade Crackers are anytime healthy snack compared to the packed biscuits and a heavenly bliss for evening tea time.
Homemade Crackers is a very easy cracker that can made.These crackers are best to munch on its own or with tea.I wanted to try few more recipes using homemade maida so made these crackers, these have no rising agent just flour,water and flavouring. To me the crackers slightly tasted like chaska maska and I so loved it.
These crackers are light,crunchy, if you want more crispy crackers check my notes section for variations.The crackers have a very buttery flavour which I loved the best.

Homemade Crackers | Crackers Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup maida
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon mixed herbs
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
- cold water as needed
- salt to taste
Instructions
- To a mixing bowl, measure flour and add it. Add chilli flakes, salt and mixed herbs. Mix it once.
- Add butter, mix it so that it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Now add water little by little. Gather to form a smooth dough.
- Preheat oven at 180 deg C.
- Roll the dough between butter paper, roll it very thin. Sprinkle more chilli flakes and herbs.
- Cut into small squares. Prick with fork to avoid puffing.
- Bake in preheated oven at 180 deg C for 10-12 mins or until the edges start to brown.
- Cool down completely then store the crackers in an airtight container.
Notes
- These crackers are crunchy if you want crispy crackers then replace butter with oil.
- The flavouring is up to you, you can make it as per your preference.

Pizza Crackers is crackers using whole wheat flour.I was little bored of trying cookies also felt like eating something spicy n salty so baked these crackers as this was a experiment didn’t expect anyone else in the house to even taste it but guess what all 5 of us loved it so much, the mini who wants sweet even in sambar 😉 liked it…perfect to munch.
Whole wheat and not much of butter too as we add for cookies still it comes out crunchy and taste.The first time I made it was gone in minutes so made it again shot a video too.

Pizza Crackers
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoon chilled butter
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon pizza seasoning
- 1 teaspoon oil
- salt to taste
- chilled water as needed
Instructions
- To a mixing bowl add wheat flour, then butter. Add pizza seasoning and oregano. If you don't have pizza seasoning – combine chilli flakes and mixed herbs (which comes with pizza when we buy outside) and then add it.
- Add required salt and oil. Mix well until it resembles bread crumbs. Then add chill water little by little.
- Knead to a stiff dough just like our chapati dough. Set aside for 15 mins.
- Then knead again and roll over a baking sheet.
- Cut the edges to form a square, remove the edges. Prick with fork. While you do this preheat oven at 200 deg C for 10 mins.
- Cut into small squares. Lay butter paper on the tray. Arrange the crackers on butter paper.
- Bake in preheated oven at 200 deg C for 12- 15 mins or until golden. Do not over bake then the crackers will become hard.
- Cool on wire rack then store in a clean dry airtight container. Enjoy Pizza Crackers!
