What is Iced Lemon Tea?
Iced Lemon Tea is a simple black tea with lemon juice and sugar served with lots of ice cubes. Iced Lemon Tea needs only very few ingredients tea powder, water, lemon juice, sugar and of course lots of ice cubes to make it more chilled, and also to make it look sparkling too.
This is a no fail recipe that can made in just 10 minutes. Iced Lemon Tea is so refreshing especially during summer. It is not only delicious but very easy to prepare at home. This is one of the perfect drinks for summer.
Lemon Tea is made by first boiling water, tea powder and making a decoction. Then strain it discard the remains. Add sugar and lemon juice to collected tea decoction, mix it well. Serve with lots of ice cubes and lemon slices.

Lemon Tea Ingredients
- Water – Use regular drinking water chilled.
- Tea powder – Use good quality tea powder as it is the main flavoring in this tea.
- Lemon – Cut and use fresh lemon while squeezing.
- Sweetener – I have used white sugar. You can also use brown sugar.
- Ice cubes – Use lots of ice cubes.
Lemon Tea Recipe Step by Step
1.First cut lemons. Use fresh juicy lemons.
2.Extract juice using a lemon squeezer.
3.Collect the juice and discard the remains. Set aside.
4.To a sauce pan add 2 cups water.
5.When it starts to boil, add 2 teaspoon tea powder.
6.Give a quick mix.
7.Let it boil for 2-3 minutes.
8.Boil well but not for too long just for 2-3 minutes is enough.
9.Let it come to a rolling boil like this.
10.Switch off.
11.Set aside covered for few minutes.
12.Now strain the tea decoction using a strainer.
13.Discard the remains in the strainer.
14.Tea decoction is ready. Let the decoction become slightly warm.
15.Add 1/4 cup sugar.
16.Add 1/4 cup lemon juice.
17.Mix it well.
18.Now you can either chill it or serve it at once along with ice cubes.
19.To a serving glass – add lots of ice cubes along with lemon slices.
20.Now pour the prepared tea.
21.Give a quick mix.
22.Serve chilled with straw.

Expert Tips
- Do not boil tea for more time after tea powder is added else it will become strong and bitter.
- Also do not add lemon juice when the tea is hot it may become bitter.
- Add sugar as per your taste.
- If you like your decoction to be strong then add more tea. If you want it mild then add 3/4 cup prepared tea and add 1/4 cup water to it but in that case add little more sugar.
- Add just 1 and 1/2 teaspoon tea powder if your tea powder is too strong.

- You can add 1 teaspoon grated ginger and first boil it in water then add tea powder and follow the rest of the steps – Your Iced Ginger Lemon Tea is ready!
- You can add a pinch of cinnamon for a great flavor.
- Add mint leaves for a minty flavor.
- Instead of lemon you can even add sweet lime juice to it for a different flavor.
