Mango Poori or Mango Puri is one of the delicious twist to the usual poori we make.Mangoes gives a golden yellow color and a mild sweetness to the poori which I liked the most.And yes it was so photogenic you see! You can have mango poori as such or pair it with any gravy of your choice.We had it with sweet corn gravy.
I wanted to end this years mango series with last post itself but then when amma bought some juicy pulpy mangoes I couldn’t resist so made this mango puri and we enjoyed it so much.

Mango Poori
Ingredients
- 1 heaped cup wheat flour
- 1 small mango ~1/3 cup mango puree
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- salt to taste
- plus or minus 3 tablespoon water
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add wheta flour, than add mango puree. Add cardamom powder and salt.
- First mix well with your finger tips then add water little by little.
- Mix and knead well to a smooth pliable dough. Set aside to rest at least for 15mins.
- Make small balls, then take one ball flatten it slightly then roll into slightly thick circles. Repeat to finish the dough.
- Heat oil in a kadai, pinch a small dough and add it to the oil, if starts coming up immediately then that's the right temperature. Keep in medium high and add one poori at a time.
- Press with a ladle for the poori to puff up nicely. Turn over and cook. Cook until golden on both sides. Drain and serve Mango Poori hot!
Notes
- If you want sweet poori then add 2 teaspoon sugar but not more than that else the pooris will get burnt easily.
- As fresh mango pulp is added it gets cooked faster than usual pooris so be very careful and alter flame accordingly.
How to make Mango Poori Step by Step
