Masala Corn is a sweet & spicy snack made by seasoning corn with spice powders & butter. Masala Corn is a simple, quick to make snack and healthy too. Masala Corn Recipe is presented in this post with step by step pictures.
Masala Corn is a quick healthy snack that you can prepare within few minutes. I am sure most kids will love sweet corn so why not make this for your kids when they are back from school….just reduce the spice level according to your liking and preference.I love both butter corn which is a less spicy mild version and this spicy masala corn too.

📖 Recipe Card
Masala Corn
Ingredients
- 1 cup sweet corn
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chat masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon jeera powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- salt to taste
Instructions
- I got a pack of corn kernels already separated from the cob. So I chose to boil it in a pan as my cooker was already buzzing with other items 🙂
- Boil for 10 mins or until corn turns soft, drain the water. If you are pressure cooking then pressure cook for 4 whistles till corn turns soft. You can microwave it too.
- Then in a mixing bowl add all the ingredients listed along with corn and mix well.
- Give a quick stir and serve immediately.
- While serving sprinkle little red chilli powder and chat masala powder and serve hot.
- Sprinkle additional masala powders while serving if you prefer extra spice 🙂
- Serve Masala Corn it hot / warm. You can even microwave it before serving.

Notes
- I usually don't add salt while cooking as I find it toughening corn at times. So I add while cooking recipes with it.
- You can also use frozen corn but cooking time varies so cook accordingly.
- It is preferred to serve immediately once it is made. If you are planning to serve later then just boil sweet corn and make all the ingredients ready then at the time of serving just warm up the corn then mix with ingredients.
- This is a spicy version so adjust spice level according to your taste.
