Millet Kozhukattai is a soft healthy kozhukattai made using bajra flour. I had a batch of bajra flour so tried both sweet and this kara kozhukattai.Pearl millet is an excellent source of protein and fiber.

Millet Kozhukattai Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup bajra flour
- 1 tablespoon coconut in bits
- salt to taste
- 1 cup water
To temper:
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon split urad dal
- 1 small red chilli
- few nos curry leaves chopped finely
- a pinch hing
Instructions
- Heat oil - add the items listed under 'to temper'. Let it splutter.
- Then add coconut pieces, saute for a minute. Add required salt and water.
- Once water starts to boil add the bajra flour.
- Keep mixing while you add to avoid lumps. Keep cooking until it forms a dough. Transfer to a plate, grease hand with oil and mix well once.
- Shape them as kozhukattais. Prepare the steamer and arrange the kozhukattais. Steam cook for 10 mins in low medium flame.
