A healthy moong bean sprouts salad perfect to go side with meals or as a snack or even for breakfast. Moong bean sprouts salad is a healthy and tasty salad which is low in fat but keeps you full.
This is a no cook recipe exceot for blanching moong bean sprouts. So if you have sprouts in hand this salad can be done in few minutes and best for summer.
How to make Homemade Sprouts?
- Though sprouts are easily available in supermarkets , I would highly recommend making your own batch. Its not only easy but hygenic when made at home.
- First to begin with soak the bean in water for atleast 8 hours or ovenight.
- Rinse it well, drain water completely. Keep covered in a cloth or a hot box for a day.
- If you want long sprouts then keep it for a day mine is after 8 hrs. I would prefer short ones.
- Anyways long or short doesnt really matter for the nutrition and health benefits it gives. Once it starts to sprouting itself, the nutrition is doubled that of the normal bean.
Sprouts Salad Recipe
Making sprouts is the only major step in this salad recipe. Once you have sprouts in hand it takes just few minutes to put it together. To begin with first blanch spouts by adding hot water to it, set aside for 10 mins. After that, rinse and drain water well then add all other ingredients and mix well. And your healthy moong bean sprouts salad is ready.
Variations to Sprouts Salad
- I have blanched the sprouts for a crunchy texture but you can cook it if you want.
- You can add boiled potatoes, onion etc.
- Adding fruits and dry fruits is another option to make it a fruit sweet salad.
- Also you can add nuts and seeds for a more crunchy taste.
- In addition you can use any bean sprouts variety.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup green moong sprouts
- 2 tablespoon cucumber
- 1 tablespoon tomato
- 2 tablespoon carrot
- 2 tablespoon capsicum
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chat masala powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- salt to taste
Instructions
- To begin with first soak green moong bean in water for 8 hrs or overnight.
- Rinse well and drain water completely.
- After that, transfer it to a hot box,spread it.
- Close it and set aside for a day or minimum 8-10 hrs.
- Now tiny sprouts has come after 8 hrs.
- Add hot water to it. Set aside for 10 mins.
- Rinse well,drain water completely add to mixing bowl.
- Finally add all other ingredients to it.
- Give a quick mix.
