Sathu Maavu Idiyappam is a quick and healthy fix for breakfast.I usually make sathu maavu or health mix during summer and stock it up for a year.Wanted to try few recipes with it other than the usual porridge and this idiyappam was such a hit.

Sathu Maavu Idiyappam | Health Mix Idiyappam
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sathu maavu mix
- salt to taste
- water as needed
Instructions
- Dry roast health mix for 2 mins just until its hot to touch. Cool down then add salt. Mix well and set aside.
- Boil water and add it little by little.
- Keep mixing and adding, once its warm enough to handle use your hand to bring together to a soft dough just like our usual idiyappam dough.
- Grease your idiyappam maker, take the dough and fill into the press.
- Grease the idli plate with oil, press a thin layer over each hole.
- Arrange in idli steamer and steam cook for 5-8 mins. Do not overcook then it may become hard.
- Soft sathu maavu idiyappam ready! Serve with cane sugar and coconut.
Notes
- You can add cardamom powder if you want , my health mix already had so didn't add.
