Hubby loves tea,masala tea and all varieties of tea so made this Homemade Chai Masala Powder so that its handy while making tea. I minimally adapted the recipe from here, while roasting itself the aroma was soo good. I had chai using this powder and loved it soo much though am not much of a tea person.

Tea Masala Powder
Ingredients
- 1/8 cup dry ginger powder
- 2 tablespoon cloves
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 3 half inch cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon pepper corns
- 15 nos cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg grated
To prepare tea:
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon chai masala powder reduce if u want it mild
- 1 teaspoon tea powder
- sugar to taste
Instructions
Making Tea Masala Powder:
- Take dry ginger, crush it well using a hand mortar and pestle. Remove the fiber part and take the powder alone, measure and keep aside.
- Except dry ginger powder take all the ingredients in a pan and dry roast until nice aroma comes. Switch off, cool down then transfer to mixer jar.
- First grind it coarse then add dry ginger powder along with grated nutmeg.
- Now grind it again to a powder. Cool down then store Tea Masala Powder.
Making Tea with Tea Masala Powder:
- Heat milk in a sauce pan.
- Add chai masala powder along with tea powder. Add sugar if needed, I did not add today.
- Let it come to a rolling boil twice. Simmer for a minute then switch off. Strain and serve tea masala powder tea hot!
