Ingredients

  • 4 bread slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Take 4 bread slices. Cut into small squares like this. Preheat oven at 190 DEG C for 10 minutes.
  • Repeat to finish. Set it aside. It comes to around 3 cups of bread squares.
  • To a bowl add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon mixed herbs, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • Take 2 tablespoon melted butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  • Mix it well and set aside.
  • To a bowl add the bread cubes and add the prepared seasoning.
  • Toss it well.
  • Mix it well.
  • To a baking tray lay parchment paper then transfer the bread pieces to it.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 190 DEG C for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  • Homemade croutons are ready to store or serve! Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Keep an eye after 8 minutes as it gets browned faster after that. Mine got done in 9 mins exactly as my slices were thin. So the baking time depends on the thickness of the bread slice too.
  • You can add crushed garlic or other herbs as per your liking.
  • You can use leftover thick slices of bread for best results.
  • The flavors are endless, you can experiment as per your liking.
